Hello again. Here's another amazing concert stub from yesteryear. My older brother went to see almost every touring rock band that came through the cities between 1978 and 1985. He kept most of the ticket stubs from those days. Well he's not as nostalgic as he used to be. So he gave them to me to sell. So I am.This concert stub is from the AC/DC concert at Met Center in Bloomington, MN on November 22, 1981.
By this time, AC/DC had firmly established themselves as headliners as they scored a MAJOR MEGA hit in America with Back In Black.
In fact, they sold out this show so fast (at Met Center in Bloomington, MN) that they added a
second
show the day after this one.
This particular concert was "officially"(?) on the For Those About To Rock Tour...and that album was released the day following this concert on 11/23/81 (look it up!).
Here are a few nuggets I found on the Google machine. Of course this tour featured their classic line up:
Angus Young - Lead Guitar
Malcolm Young - Rhythm Guitar
Brian Johnson - Lead Vocals
Cliff Williams - Bass
Phil Rudd - Drums
Opening band: Midnight Flyer
Promoter:
Shon
Capacity:
16,000
Fan reviews:

I remember it like it was yesterday. To see the band at the absolute crest of the wave. "Highway to Hell", "Back in Black", re-release of "Dirty Deeds", "For those...". Regrettably, I didn't see Bon but Brian's voice in great form. Mal & Cliff and Phil in the back... Pre- MTV so you didn't know what to expect then...Here comes the Bell and Angus. What can I say, to see him when he was literally all over the stage, falling down, coffee-grinder, duck-walking, the tour around the arena. I have a clipping from the show where the guy said he hadn't seen a concert where EVERYONE knew every song within 1-2 chords. They played 2 sold out shows and its a shame I couldn't see Night #2... Saw them 12 more times, last in MSP in 2000 but nothing compares to November 1981.
And the set list:
Hells Bells
Shot Down in Flames
Sin City
Shoot to Thrill
Back in Black
Bad Boy Boogie
Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution
The Jack
What Do You Do for Money Honey
Highway to Hell
Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
Whole Lotta Rosie
Let There Be Rock
You Shook Me All Night Long
For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)
T.N.T.
Please see pics for details. FYI the picture of AC/DC playing live are NOT included with this. It was added to show what it must have been like at this concert.
Feel free to ask questions if you have them, and see my other listings for more fun and unique collectibles and curiosities. And thanks for stopping by!
