in Seattle is pleased to offer a collection of photographs from a single individual, US Marine Corp. Captain Bruscas. The collection contains 102 black and white photographs with all but two measuring either 5.5" x 3.5" or 3.5" x 2.5" (or 2.25" tall). The other two are 7" x 5". Of the photos, 23 have manuscript captions on verso, telling of the scene at hand, citing a village name, or presenting humorous or flippant remarks. Prints are housed in clear sleeves collected in a blue leather three-ring binder.
Photos present a verisimilitude of a soldier's tour in Vietnam: The boredom, the bonhomie of beers with fellow soldiers, the frightening jungle landscapes in which Viet Cong fighters are hiding, or the denouement of battle, showing dead VC lined up or in situ in thatch huts or boats. A solid collection.
