ESSO Vtg Laminated Restroom Sign Promoting FLIT 5% D.D.T. Surface Spray VG Cond.

Description

This is a rare, original sign used for the Esso Dealer Service restroom in the 1940's...over 80 years old!
The white, red, and blue graphic sign is mounted on a rectangle of sturdy masonite measuring
5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and the whole sign has a nice protective lamination, and has been kept in a pet and smoke free environment.
This Esso sign is more vintagely valuable as it advertises that:
"This Rest Room has been sprayed with FLIT 5% D.D.T. SURFACE SPRAY"
FLIT was the brand name of the pesticide that Esso invented and used in the late 1940's with 5% D.D.T. >>>when that was still considered acceptable to use!
This sturdy sign has a metal hanger attachment on the back, and has a label from GLASSOLOID, who is the plastic laminating specialists that helped make the sign, on the back lower right hand corner.
