As owners of The Ark Workshop, we’ve been designing and building wildlife housing & feeders for over 30 years. We've been fortunate to have had many of our products sold in popular retail chains in the United States.  When creating houses or feeders, our primary focus is to create designs that will be used by specific wildlife.  Much research and time goes into that.  We’ve literally spent years refining every design.  We’ve found that there are certain features a house/feeder needs to have for wildlife to accept it, use it, and then return to use it again!  Through our personal experiences, thousands of customer correspondences, and years of research … we’ve discovered some valuable insights that have helped us create these wildlife-specific products.   Whenever possible, we always try to include a picture of the product in use so that you know that is has a proven track record. PRODUCT  DESCRIPTION:
Are you thinking about putting up a BAT HOUSE?   Bats certainly eat up a lot of insects ...... especially mosquitoes.  However, before investing a lot of money on a bat house mansion, perhaps "test out the waters" with this starter Bat House.  Once you get bats, you can put up a larger version or add more of these and spread them out over your property.
According to experts, the most common reason a bat house does not get occupied is because it is too cold and drafty.  Therefore,
bat warmth is everything!
Bats like a house that is warm.  That's why many bats end up finding their way into attics.  They're attracted to the heat.  Our Bat House has a unique feature that helps it maintain the proper interior temperature that bats require.  The roof is protected with a fiberglass shingled roof that absorbs heat and maintains interior temperature that bats like.  Each house is handcrafted and has been built to the specifications to accommodate bats.  It easily attaches to any tree, house, building, or post.  The interior is grooved so that bats can cling.
We use all 3 fasteners with each house ....  Nails, screws, and glue:  Mother Nature is tough on outdoor items.  Nails alone are not enough, glue alone is not enough, and screws alone might be ok.  However, we go ahead and use all 3 to create a very durable item which comes fully assembled & ready to use upon arrival.   We create a durable roof for house longevity.  The roof receives the most wear and tear on an outdoor item.  Therefore, we focus special attention on making durable roofs with all our products.  Take care of the roof and then the house underneath lasts longer..... Just like in the homes we live in.  We include a FREE info card that shares Fun Facts and how to get your house full of bats.   Why a Bat House (you might be asking)?  Well, bats eat a lot of insects (up to 5000 each night) and this then provides a natural way of controlling your local insect population -- especially mosquitoes.  Each house accommodates approximately 20 bats.   We were one of the first to offer bat houses on eBay approx. 20 years ago.  We’re glad to continue that tradition and we hope you will try an Ark Workshop Bat House today.
Fun Fact:  DID YOU KNOW that: Female bats join up together to form a "nursery colony".  The colony all work together to care for and raise the baby bats.  Even with hundreds of baby bats to care for, a mother bat still recognizes her own young.

PROCESSING
& SHIPPING TIME:
What’s Processing Time?  When a customer orders from us, we are currently working on prior orders. Since we make the items we sell (not a buy/ship seller), our days consist of building product, shipping, & email communications. These activities easily fill up a day and we need processing time to keep everything in balance and operating smoothly.  It's not your order that requires the 5 business days but the orders prior to yours that are needing their processing.  Also know that we always try to mover orders through for quicker arrival times.  However we will not rush through an order for the sake of getting to the next one.  We want each customer to receive the quality item that they're expecting.  Thank you!

The Ark Workshop is a family owned business.  We initially were working in corporate healthcare but wanted a career that would enable us to spend more time as a family.  Taking a leap-of-faith,  we left our secure jobs and tried to find such a profession.   In between interviews, we kept busy woodworking and making unique items for our lawn and garden. Then one day, a passing motorist noticed one of our designs and stopped to see if we would be willing to make one for her. We agreed and, before long, we started getting a few more orders from others. After a while, we began interviewing less and building more.  Before we knew it, we had a couple weeks of orders and we started to consider the possibility of pursuing this as our occupation.  Through prayer and hard work, we started to grow this business and we call it
