Antique Seal Skin Fur & Leather Gauntlet Trapper Woodsman Gloves~Steampunk
REVISION 7/2021: I originally had listed these as Beaver fur/skin but I have been informed from a fellow e-bay member that this is actually Seal Skin because the fur is much stiffer & coarser than that of a beaver. They also informed us these would have been appropriate for Arctic exploration in the late 19th or early 20th century.
The fur is also on the inside of them (photo 4). I don't find any holes or tears in them. There is signs of prior wear, fading/discoloration to the leather on the palms (photo 7) and some fur missing worn at spots. (mostly at edges and fingers photo 6 & 8 example). I have not attempted to clean them as I have no idea the proper way. They have a slight musty smell from age and just the fact that they are made of animal fur/leather/skin.
