Antique La Duchess ~ Army & Navy C.S.L. kid gloves in hand-painted silk case

Description

Lovely Antique Ivory Opera gloves are La Duchess brand, and were sold at the Army Navy C.S.L. Co-op in London which sold exclusively to Officers and their families. The Co-op started because officers thought they were paying too much for wine so  they opened there on business which eventually starting selling household, clothing, etc. These gloves are a size 6 1/4 and measure 27" long. They each have a three mother of pearl button closure. They are in a hand painted silk cover glove holder which is lined with a lavender silk. There are 4 silk ribbons to hold the gloves in the case and one needs to be sewn back on as shown.
