Beautiful Hand-Painted Lacquered Japanese Wooden Base Scrapbook that belonged to the late Lt. Col. Robert W. Kirby, USMC (Retired) (
2 April 1931 – 9 January 2003)
. Based in Okinawa, Kirby was the Commanding Officer (CO) of 2d Battalion 4th Marines in 1972-73. Scrapbook contains autographs of over 60 Officers and NCO's under his command. The scrapbook also contains over 60 period photographs from his tour of duty. 2/4 Marines participated in Operation Saklolo in the Philippines, which provided relief from disastrous flooding in the summer of 1972. The Scrapbook was musical at one time, but doesn't play anymore. Please contact me by email if you have any questions.
