For sale is a vintage Pair of US Army M-1949 Arctic Mittens With linings
Korea war era
Manufactured 1951
Mitten back: 48% alpaca, 52% cotton
Lining: 60% wool, 40% cotton
Size small
I have a couple pairs of these mittens. My father was a KW veteran. When I go out to shovel snow in the winter, my fingers don’t even feel the arctic weather! These are a little ugly but great warm winter mittens.
Very nice shape. No cuts on the material. Some light stains on the leather, could use some cleaning. The size is small but I’m usually using gloves size large and these actually fit. The thumb can be a bit longer but my hands and forearms fit comfortably in there.
The two mittens are connected with a military green tether with a adjustable loop that can attach to the collar of the parka. Back in days, the tether runs inside the sleeves of the parka so even if you take them off, you will never lose any of them.
