Handsome fold-out road map of Tennessee, published by the Standard Oil Company of Louisiana more than 73 years ago.
The map opens to 16½" x 30½" and has great detail on old highway alignments in the Volunteer State, with cartography by the General Drafting Company.
On the reverse side there is a pictorial map of Tennessee and inset plans of Memphis, Nashville, and Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
The map was published in 1941 by the Standard Oil Company of Louisiana to promote its Esso brand. It is dated in the legend and on the cover. The photograph on the front cover shows the west fork of the Little Pigeon River, with the Great Smoky Mountains in the background.
Condition:
This map is in very good, lightly used condition, bright and clean, with one tiny edge tear and
